The mini bus from Sapa to Cat Ba Island will depart at 5 pm from Sapa O'Chau main office in Sapa to Lao Cai. You will transfer to a sleeper bus going to Hai Phong province. A high speed boat will then ferry you to Cat Ba Island. At the harbour, you will be shuttled to the centre of island by a bus at around 8 am. The price is USD30 per ticket per way.
The return trip from Cat Ba Island to Sapa will start from the Mr. Zoom hostel, 25 Nui Ngoc, Cat Ba Island, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong province at 3:30 pm and reach Sapa at around 6 am the next morning.
